About Us

The Nuzum family has been in the insurance business since 1902. Starting with Ernest Nuzum, co-founder of the Hood Insurance Group LLC which is located in Fairmont, WV, and is currently operated by his great grandson, Chad Nuzum. In 1975, Ernest’s grandson, Bruce Nuzum, founded the Nuzum Insurance Agency Inc. which currently has locations in Woodbridge, Virginia and Glen Allen, Virginia. Currently, the Nuzum Insurance Agency is operated by Bruce and his sons, Ernest’s great grandsons, Eric “Brandon” Nuzum and Dallas “Kyle” Nuzum. Our family-owned agency takes great pride in our family ideals. Our clients are our family as well. FAMILY is what our agency was built by and we strive to treat all of our clients as family, ensuring they are protected and receive quality service on a daily basis. You, as a part of our family, are our top priority and we strive to exceed your expectations with every interaction you have with us. Our family is here to protect yours.

Here are a few things that make us different.

Our family has been giving back to Northern Virginia childhood cancer centers by operating a local non-profit called Trevor’s Treasures, in honor of our son, Trevor. Each year we deliver hope and happiness to families battling childhood cancer by delivering toys and family dinners for families that find they are spending the holidays in the hospital. Santa joins our family as well for those that are in the hospital at Christmas. Throughout the year we stock a Trevor’s Treasures Treasure Box at the INOVA Fairfax Pediatric Oncology Unit with toys to brighten days all year round.

Our family has also been involved with Prince William Soccer and Northern Virginia Soccer Club as players and coaches. We have also been a part of Prince William Youth Lacrosse and Gainesville Youth Lacrosse as coaches. Eric Nuzum is currently the Associate Head Coach of the CD Hylton High School Men’s Lacrosse Program.
